Overview

 

WAYS performs approximately five times a year. Concerts often include individual performances by WAYS members and feature notable guest artists.

Mid Year Concert

The orchestra typically replaces half of its members each year and takes on a new repertoire. The Mid Year Concert is the first performance for the 'new' WAYS orchestra and it is particularly exciting for new members.

School Strings Festival

WAYS performs annually at the Schools String Festival and continually achieves exemplary grades. In 2009, the Orchestra scored an 'Outstanding' rating in the Middle School Division.

Government House Open Day

WAYS traditionally performs at the Government House Open Day. This is an opportunity for the orchestra to play before a broader audience.

Jessica Gilbert Benefit Concert

This is a special charity event to raise money for the Children's Leukaemia and Cancer Foundation and to commemorate a past member of WAYS, the talented musician Jessica Gilbert.

Christmas Concert

This is a fun concert which enables the orchestra to showcase their achievements and celebrate the performances of members graduating from the orchestra. It is also another opportunity for members to perform in small groups or individually.
